1. Drummer's Frustration and Forced Rap (2015-2018)

It all started around 2015 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Timothy Evan Thomas ("Evan") didn't plan to stand at the front of the stage with a microphone-he just wanted to play the drums. However, he quickly collided with the reality of dealing with local vocalists. Instead of wasting his nerves, he decided to make music himself. The problem was that as a 15-16 year old, he couldn't sing at all. The solution? An escape into emo-rap.

His early, chaotic DIY productions were fueled by childhood traumas and systematic bullying at school. Evan, bullied for his appearance and alternative style, poured all his anger into his lyrics. During this period, he released a lot of amateur material:

  • 2015: "Chained to Me" (an amateur single to test the waters).
  • 2016: "The Small Town EP" and the debut mixtape "Porch Side Stories" (often circulating on the net simply as "TX2 EP").
  • 2017: Mixtape "Road Side Stories" along with the single "I’m Not A Machine".
  • 2018: Mixtape "The Modern Punk" (containing the track "Living Punk Rock", among others).

2. Move to Miami, the Rainbow Front, and Milking TikTok (2018-2022)

The real turning point came when Evan moved to Miami to study music. The project began to shift rapidly towards emo-rock, pop-punk, and alternative. That's when Evan had a marketing epiphany: he realized that in this day and age, music is best sold through controversy and touching on subjects that burn.

Instead of driving an old van around niche clubs, Evan figured out social media algorithms perfectly. He began practicing ruthless, rage-bait marketing. He uploaded a mass of videos on TikTok and YouTube deliberately targeting orthodox metalheads and old punk gatekeepers. The pattern was simple: anger the boomers and gatekeepers, cause a massive shitstorm in the comments, and direct the resulting traffic straight to Spotify.

At the same time, TX2 dove into social issues, supporting LGBT movements, trans individuals, and queer youth. Their tracks became anthems for kids searching for their own identity.   1. The song "Randy McNally (No Love Like Christian Hate)" - a furious attack on the hypocrisy of conservative politicians (the title's Randy McNally is the Lt. Governor of Tennessee, who voted for anti-LGBT laws while liking revealing photos of a young gay man on Instagram).
  2. The song "The Resistance" - directly targeting the cover-up of Jeffrey Epstein's files and systemic pedophilia of the elites.

Right-wing and religious circles in the US went wild, which only fueled millions more views for TX2. That's also when the cult of the band's most orthodox haters formed. At shows where TX2 played as a support act, groups of outraged metalheads demonstratively stood with their backs to the stage or walked out of the venue. But Evan only laughed, cashing more checks.

4. Clone Wars, Plagiarism Allegations, and the "Cruel World" Era (2024-2025)

TX2's success brought with it a crop of copycats. After hitting major European festivals (such as Rock am Ring, Download, Rock for People, Jera on Air, Vainstream) in the first half of the year, Evan officially announced from the stage and on social media that TX2 currently has a much larger and louder fanbase in Europe than in their native US. This cold calculation pushed them to make a key decision: time for their own club tour as a headliner.

TX2 Lineup: Who actually runs the business and who lives with whom?

Visually a trio, business-wise - a cold calculation. Evan and Cam control the brand, and the rhythm section ensures everything sounds massive live.

Official Core (2024-2026)

  • Timothy Evan Thomas (Vocals): The brain, brand owner, and hate magnet. Started with rap, now screams in the classic style of modern emo-rock. Together with Cam, he writes lyrics and directs music videos. Interestingly, both declare that if the TX2 era ever ends, they want to go into film directing.
  • Cameron "Cam" Rostami (Guitar / Backing Vocals): Evan's roommate and best friend. Jumped into the project when it was time to ditch the raps for rock riffs. Rotational Drum Section (Contract Musicians)

TX2 still doesn't have a permanently contracted drummer as a band member. Instead of sharing profits, they hire proven mercenaries for tours:

  • Sam Palombo (Session Drummer): Played for Poppy and Blame Candy, among others; joins for selected shows.
  • Ethan "Church" Vaillancourt (Main Touring Drummer): Regular touring resident. He drummed on the tour with Ice Nine Kills in 2025 and at big summer festivals in 2026. 1. Frustracja perkusisty i rap z przymusu (2015-2018)
